Engine 2

Engine 2 is a 2007 Seagrave fitted with a 1250 gpm pump and a 750 gal booster tank and 40 gal of premixed AFFF.

Engine 2's Station is located at 206 Tremont St., at the corner of Tremont and Melrose. The building dates back to 1930 and was built to replace the Franklin St. station that dated back to the 1870's. The station houses Engine 2, our spare, Engine 4, that is used during maintenance periods and the Mass Decontamination Unit. Engine 2's House Captain is Capt. Eugene (Chick) McCarthy. Chick has been on the job since 1977. The station is manned by 12 firefighters made up from 4 shifts with an officer and 2 privates manning the piece per shift. Recently the large familiar clock on the front of the station was refurbished by the men and is still used by all who pass by on there way to work or to the near by Middle and High School.
